CBD Updates – Q1 2025

CBD updates this quarter indicate that the CBD market is experiencing rapid growth, with ongoing legal and market developments.

By staying informed and providing accurate information, we can contribute to the responsible and sustainable growth of the CBD industry.

Ongoing research highlight the diverse therapeutic applications of CBD and its potential to improve human health.

The therapeutic potential of CBD continues to be a focal point of scientific inquiry. Researchers are exploring its efficacy in treating various conditions, including neurological disorders, mental health issues, and chronic pain.

  • Neurological Disorders:
    • Studies are investigating CBD’s role in managing epilepsy, multiple sclerosis, and other neurological conditions. Preliminary findings suggest that CBD may help reduce seizures, alleviate muscle spasticity, and improve overall quality of life.
  • Mental Health:
    • Research is also exploring CBD’s potential in treating anxiety, depression, and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). Some studies indicate that CBD may modulate serotonin receptors, leading to anxiolytic and antidepressant effects.
  • Gut Biome and Athletic Performance:
    • There is increasing research on the connection between the gut biome, and athletic performance. Some studies are looking at the effects of CBD on the gut biome, and how that relates to inflammation, and recovery in athletes.

CBD Offers More Than Syptomatic Relief for MS

A paper published on the NIH site National Library of Medicine highlights the potential of cannabinoids, particularly CBD, in managing multiple sclerosis (MS). MS, an autoimmune disease affecting the central nervous system, lacks a universally effective treatment. While current therapies focus on slowing progression and alleviating symptoms, cannabinoids offer a promising avenue. Studies have demonstrated that cannabinoids can effectively reduce MS-related symptoms like spasticity, pain, and tremors, traditionally viewed as symptomatic relief.

However, the research suggests a deeper impact. Cannabinoids possess anti-inflammatory, immunosuppressive, and neuroprotective properties, indicating they might modify the disease’s progression itself. Ongoing clinical trials are exploring this potential, and the molecular effects observed suggest that with optimal dosing, cannabinoids could transition from mere symptom management to a disease-modifying therapy (DMT). This represents a significant shift in perspective, opening up new possibilities for MS treatment.

CBD Updates for Animals Requested by FDA

The FDA is gathering information relating to the use of CBD in animals. Please visit this link before April 16th if you would like to participate.

At the CBD expert, we have assisted many animals with Whole Flower Fluid products. For example, a couple of drops per day in an older animal relieves joint/hip/arthritis pains and we love to hear how older animals start acting younger again, for example, hopping off the couch again to greet you at the door when you come home.
